Overview
Spend a complete week exploring the unique cultures and traditions of the South Sudanese on our captivating seven-day cultural tour. The tour includes visiting the Mundari and Dinka people. You will begin your tour with a visit to Juba, then transverse the breathtaking landscapes of the Terekeka. Head off to experience the distinct Mundari and Dinka cultures with an experienced guide. The cultural villages to be visited guarantee you unique rituals, traditions, and distinct lifestyles.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Juba
You will meet your safari guide from South Sudan who will warmly welcome you at the Juba International Airport. Get a short briefing and you will be transferred to the hotel around Juba city. At the lodge or hotel in Juba, expect to enjoy a leisurely dinner and later retire for the night.
Day 2: Drive from Juba to Mundari
Depart from Juba for Mundari where you will experience the unique cultures and traditions of the Mundari people. The Mundari are the semi-nomadic cattle keepers and regardless of the political situation in the country, they have managed to protect their unique traditional practices. Access to Mundari takes about 4-5 hours and en route, you will have a chance to make a stopover at Terekeka town market.
Proceed from Terekeka to Mundari cattle camp. The Mundari people are known for their distinct traditions and rituals. You will closely observe their unique way of life and enjoy the incredible dances and musical performances.

At the Mundari Camp, expect to visit the Mundari elders and you will be introduced to the rest of the tribe. You also stand a chance to have incredible sunset photography at the Mundari Cattle Camp. The rest of the evening will be spent in modern tents.
Day 3: Visit the Mundari Cattle Camp
Expect to spend the long day exploring more about the Mundari people and their cultures. Learn the traditions, and practices from the local people that guarantee you authentic cultural experiences. With the local guide, expect a complete immersion into the Mundari’s unique traditions, customs, and different practices.

A lot awaits you at the Mundari including the sunset with the herders in their village. Later, get back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive from Juba to the Dinka Village
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, you will head off to the Dinka village. Drive through Juba city and pass by the scenic Koda River and overall, expect multiple stopovers. Arrive early and proceed to the Dinka territory for a thrilling cultural experience. You will have some activities to engage in at the Dinka tribe village. You will spend most of your time interacting with the Dinka, learning about their practices and traditions. The rest of the evening will be spent at the camp.
Day 5: Explore the Dinka village
A great day will be spent with the Dinka people at the camp. The Dinka are notably a few tallest people and are also known for being cattle keepers. The Dinka are known for cattle herding, a special thing that distinguishes them from others. They have developed different cattle management systems and they spend most of their day taking care of the cattle. You will have a long evening after the cultural experience and interaction in the Dinka community.

Day 6: Return to Juba, and engage in a Juba city tour
After breakfast, expect to exit the Dinka village and drive back to Juba. Drive back as you reflect on your thrilling cultural experience across the Mundari and Dinka villages. On arrival, expect to visit Juba on a short city tour. You will also pay a visit to the Juba Archaeological Museum. Other sites to consider visiting at the Juba city include the Konyo Konyo market. At the market, expect to meet and interact with locals as they go about their daily work in the work; visit the Garang Mausoleum, Presidential Palace Jubek tomb, etc.

Day 7: Departure
A hefty breakfast be provided to you and after, you will depart from the hotel to the airport. At Juba International Airport, expect to clear with the authorities early, and after, you can connect back home.
