Overview

Your 8 days Uganda wildlife safari is a spectacular adventure experience that will give you a rollercoaster of awesomeness as you explore the hidden gems of this beautiful country. Uganda is not called the pearl of Africa for nothing, it is the treasure of the continent as the safest haven for some of the unique wildlife species such as the endangered mountain gorillas.

It is located in the tropical escarpment of the African continent. As you step into Uganda’s wilderness, you will enjoy amazing experiences that meet your wildest dreams. You will visit different national parks such as Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to mention but a few. As you traverse these parks, you will encounter several wildlife species from the Big 5 animals, and other savannah wildlife species like antelopes, hyenas, primates, and birds.

You will also experience spanning views of epic features like waterfalls, rivers, and lakes.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Upon arrival in the country, you will be briefed by our guide driver who take you through the summarized itinerary. Later embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park as your first destination of your 8 days Uganda wildlife safari.

Have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an encounter with rhinos and lunch will be served en route. Spot several other wildlife species like antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs, and bushbuck to mention but a few. Then hit the road to Murchison Falls National Park. You will arrive at your lodge just in time for dinner.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

As the sun rises to unveil the beautiful savannah plains of the park, you will be served breakfast. After a delicious meal, our guide driver will take you on a morning game drive in the park for an exclusive wildlife adventure experience. Enjoy beautiful scenes of the landscape and several species like elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, etc.

This will complete your Big 5 experience that started with a rhino experience at Ziwa. At noon you will be saved an amazing bush lunch in the wilderness as every bite is coupled with the fresh scent of nature to give you a moment to remember.

Be driven to the landing site to begin a rewarding afternoon boat cruise after lunch. You get to admire the aquatic scenery of the Victoria Nile and spot several species like hippos, and crocodiles, and regular visits to the river like elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks. Top off your experience with an epic view of the Murchison Falls the strongest waterfall in the world. By evening you will be back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and community tour

Early in the morning, wake up to the delighting aroma of your delicious breakfast and after your lion’s share of your meal check out. Our guide drive as always will be on time to transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy beautiful scenes of the countryside like the rainforest canopy shading the road and the bright green tea plantations.

Arrive at your lodge in Kibale Forest National Park for lunch by noon. In the afternoon, embark on a community tour. Spend time interacting with locals, touring the local markets, and buying something to support their businesses. In the evening, head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and guided nature walk

At Cockcrow, wake up for breakfast, and prepare for your day’s adventure experiences. Our driver guide will pick you up from the lodge and drive you to the briefing center at Kanyanchu. The guide ranger from Uganda Wildlife Authority will take you through a pre-trekking briefing about the rules, regulations, and the expected code of conduct in the presence of the chimpanzees.

Then be grouped with other visitors in groups of 8 people assigned a chimpanzee community to track and then with the lead of an armed guide range head out into the forest. Upon locating these playful primates, you will spend a precious hour with them as you observe them play, feed, groom their young, and go by with their daily chores. The tracking of chimpanzees will take you about 4-5 including an hour spent with the chimpanzees.

After the incredible primate experience, return to your lodge for lunch. After the meals, take on a guided nature walk adventure in the park for spectacular scenes of nature and enjoy encountering other species like birds, forest hogs, bush pigs, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, etc. By evening, retrieve back to the lodge for dinner and rest for the night.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon boat cruise

At dawn, as the sun rises you will be served an early breakfast, and after you check out of your lodge. Our driver guide will then transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park as you enjoy excellent views of the countryside. As lunch draws near, you will be checking in at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After devouring your delicious meal, be driven to Kazinga Channel for an afternoon boat cruise. The calm water currents will relieve the hidden aquatic treasures that will leave you longing for more. Hippos and crocodiles the residents of the channel will ensure to give you an amazing show as other common guests to the channel like buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, and warthogs to mention but a few decorate the shores. As the boat experience comes to an end, our driver guide will transfer you back to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Batwa cultural tour

The sixth day of your Uganda wildlife safari experience will begin with delicious breakfast. You will then check out and our driver guide will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in your lodge have lunch and head out for a Batwa cultural experience.

Interact with the local Batwa people who will introduce you to their cultures and traditional skills that they used as they lived in Bwindi forest for many years before its establishment. This Batwa experience will take you until evening when you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

As you draw closer to the final day of your Uganda wildlife safari experience, you will have an early breakfast to prepare you for the day’s activities. Transfer to the briefing center in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a pre-trekking briefing. Here you will be taken through the rules, regulations, and the expected code of conduct around the primates.

Then be grouped in groups of 8 and assigned a gorilla family to track then led by an armed professional ranger to the rainforest, track the mountain gorillas. Upon locating them, you spend an hour in their presence observing them play, feed, and go by with their daily chores. The whole gorilla trekking experience will take you about 5-6 hours depending on the family being trekked.

Later head back to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Lake Mburo National Park. This journey will take you 3-4 hours and by evening you will have dinner at your lodge in the park.

Day 8: Game drive and departure

The last day of your 8 days Uganda wildlife safari will begin will an early breakfast. You will then head to the park for a morning game drive. This experience will introduce you to incredible wildlife species like zebras, giraffes, and Uganda kobs to mention but a few.

Then head back to your lodge for lunch and check out. In the afternoon, hit the road to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight back home.
