5 DAYS CULTURAL TOUR TO SOUTH SUDAN, i.e. TRIBES OF MUNDARI, LOTUKO, AND LARIM/BUYA.

Overview

Unpack South Sudan’s untamed cultures as you explore the different tribes it harbors. These tribes include Mundari, Lotuko, and Larim/Buya. On this 5 days cultural tour to South Sudan, you will experience the distinctive traditions of these tribes such as beliefs, cultures, norms, and values. You will also spot the cultural practices like cattle herding and beautiful skill scarifications. Your trip will start and end at Juba International Airport.

Day 1, 12th Jan 2025: Arrival at Juba International Airport.

You will arrive at Juba airport. Our city guide driver will happily meet and welcome you to South Sudan and transfer you to the Royal Palace Hotel for your overnight. Your first impression is meeting the tallest people on earth. The rest of the day is to explore the Juba City sightseeing tour if time may allow, take a walk to the riverside to the Afex Hotel to enjoy the cold air of the mighty White Nile, relax, and prepare for the next programs.

Day 2, 13th Jan 2025: Drive for 6 hours to Buya Hills and experience the people with beautiful skin scarifications.

After your nice breakfast, you will head to the eastern region of the country, and have your lunch in the Torit Hotel on arrival to Torit town, capital of Eastern Equatoria. Along your way, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains of Eastern Equatoria, while for lunch, the guide will be doing the necessary permit clearance with state authorities. Thereafter, you will continue your drive to the Buya hills. On arrival, you will meet our village guide in camp-15 who will introduce the team to the host community. Evening photography experience.

Day 3, 14th Jan 2025: Larim morning last photos experience and to Lotuko for evening experience.

After your morning photos experience accompanied by the Larim traditional dances, have breakfast. You will therefore pack and drive for 3 hours to the Lotuko kingdom. You will arrive and hike for 20 minutes to the most amazing village of Ileuo, where you will meet the rainmaker and the village’s traditional healer. After the evening experience, you will slope back to the camp for your dinner.

Day 4. 15th Jan 2025: Lotuko morning experience and to the Mundari cattle camp 6-hour drive.

You will wake up at 5:30 am, to have your coffee or tea with snacks and then hike to the village for a Lotuko traditional dance. And after slope down for breakfast and then pack and drive for Mundari cattle camp. You will arrive at the cattle camp at the time cows are returning from grazing fields, and this will mark your best evening activities experience with Mundari cattle keepers.

Day 5. 16th Jan 2025: Sunrise experience with amazing Mundari activities of urine washing, collection, and drying of cow dung.

You will wake up at 5:30 am, have coffee and snacks, and then join us for your last photos with Mundari morning activities. After, have your lunch and pack, drive to Juba for hotel day to take a shower, and have lunch, and then our team will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home, or your next destination.
